Matisse and the Runaway Rabbit (Art Comes to Life, 1)

When a cute and curious rabbit appears in Henri’s sunny studio, his first reaction is to chase it away, worried about the chaos it might cause.

As Lapin explores Henri’s studio, the strangest thing starts to happen — his old pictures start to burst into colorful life, encouraging Henri to embrace a new way of creating, full of freedom, and imagination. But this little rabbit isn’t satisfied by simply looking at the pictures…

Beautifully and inventively illustrated by Iratxe López de Munáin, Matisse and the Runaway Rabbit is a heartwarming tale that introduces children to Matisse’s vibrant art, showing how joy, color, and curiosity can transform the way we see the world. This gentle and engaging picture book invites young readers to explore the magic of creativity, just as Matisse did.
