Synopsis

This teaching guide is a practical resource to help teachers guide their students through the gospel of Matthew. I have been a teacher in the church for over 40 years. My desire is to assist and facilitate teachers and students with a hands-on resource that they can use, duplicate, and teach their classes and students.Included in this guide are sample lessons. These lessons have questions that can be duplicated and given to the students in advance of coming to class. I have always wanted my students to spend time in the text before they get to class, so they will be better prepared to not only learn but to facilitate in any discussion.Also included are actual audios that are recorded from my class that I teach in my local church. I do not claim to be the perfect theologian, but try my best to properly adhere to the text of the word of God. My suggestion would be to have the teacher listen to the audio and distribute the lessons in advance of the class. It is my desire that the word of God will go forth with power by the Spirit as we rightly adhere to what the text has to tell us. Typically, my teaching is expository in that I simply follow the text as it is given to us in Scripture. If successful, my goal will be to continue to use this format to provide continuing lessons that can be used in the local church. May the Lord bless you as you seek to teach His sacred word. My teacher, Dr. Howard Hendricks, at Dallas Theological Seminary told us, “every time the word of God is preached or taught someone has to sweat, just make sure it is you.” May the Lord bless you as you sweat regarding His word, in order to provide the church with the necessary edification for its spiritual growth.Paul D.
