Owl is inquisitive. Monkey is creative. Squirrel is active. And in Max's world, they don't always get along . . . especially when it's time for bed! That is, until Max discovers a surprisingly simple way to bring harmony to all his imaginary animals, helping everyone feel calm and fall asleep.
Do your kids have trouble calming down when it's bedtime? Then, this magical, illustrated story is for you! Read it together and practice taking calming deep breaths along with Max and his imaginary animal friends. The Calm Kids Collection was created by two therapist/moms who wanted to share useful skills they have learned with kids and parents to help them find their calm again. These books can be shared at home, in schools, or counseling offices; creative activities are included.
Max and the Imaginary Tree teaches young readers how to embrace their curious minds, creative hearts, and busy bodies - even when they don't agree. With special attention to struggles with calming down at bedtime, this book provides creative activities that help kids, parents, and teachers learn mindful calming down skills together.

These books are exquisitely written and illustrated and bring mindfulness based calming strategies to children in an accessible, even playful way." - Dr. Tamara Soles
"Max and the Imaginary Tree is a beautiful, insightful story that deeply resonated with me as a parent of children with busy brains. Risa Williams and Erica Curtis have crafted a gentle, empowering tale that teaches practical ways to find calm amidst chaos. Watching Max breathe life into his imaginary tree helped my children (and me) understand how simple mindfulness practices can soothe even the most energetic minds. A must-read for any family navigating big emotions, big ideas, and busy days." - Lori Oberbroeckling, mom and author of Secrets of Supermom
