The Penn work is stated as "A new and cheap edition with woodcuts", there are many humorous woodcuts but no plates in this edition. The three works by "Nimrod" have separate title pages, the first two dated 1853, and The Turf 1861; each notes: "New Edition, with numerous illustrations". well, not that numerous. Top two corners rubbed. White endpapers foxed; unobtrusive ownership signature top left second front endpaper. Spine label reads Maxims On Angling &. Binding sound and contents generally clean, with the first 30 pages a touch dusty.
