In a world where big monsters have placed the planet in danger many times, only Action Dibs, a mech pilot pwanda, can destroy the robots and ruin their plans to control Earth.

Grade 9 Up–In Pwanda!, young Hoshi's village is in danger after a pyramid vortex that keeps evil beings from other worlds from coming into this world is stolen. Hoshi wants to go after the evil sorcerer, but he is cautioned against doing so by his village elder. After a vision of his dead mother and an encounter with a fighting panda, the boy decides to venture beyond the boundaries of his village to seek the wise being who lives up the mountain, revealed to be Dipillow the giant panda. In doing so he learns many things about his world, two alternate worlds, and human consciousness. In Mech Pilot Pwanda!, panda Action Dips takes on the persona of Mech Pilot Pwanda in order to save the world from giant monsters that are coming from inner space. Both volumes try to impart deep meanings about good and evil, and about the constraints of the human mind. However, muddled and incomprehensible speeches make for baffling story lines, and Dipillow's stereotypical dialect is distracting.
