Medical Spanish: An Instant Translator

The purpose of this book is to improve communication between health care providers and Spanish speaking patients. Organised by patient complaint, the book provides commonly asked questions that simply require "yes" or "no" answers. Each question is presented in Spanish with its phonetic pronunciation and English translation. This enables users who have never spoken a single word of Spanish to successfully procure the necessary answers.

Discharge instructions enable users to ensure patients are well informed about how and when to take medications, and when to follow up or return to a medical professional.

Each chapter contains "phrases that are commonly used during physical examinations" to help readers explain workup plans, diagnoses and disposition.

Content is suitable for the full range of settings including emergency departments, outpatients clinics, hospital wards, and more.
