Meditation & Art

Art is a truly transformative medium, especially when the artist allows himself or herself to be at one with the Creative Power that lies within. The good news is that this unique ability lies within each one of us.

Ruth Platner, art teacher extraordinaire, has spent her life helping people reconnect with their spiritual essence through art. In Meditation & Art, Ruth presents her unique, very effective “exercises” that are designed to help shift our consciousness from the limitations of form to the freedom of essence. Each exercise also includes an introduction and concluding meditation that aids our ability to sense our inherent sense of being. This shift in consciousness allows us to experience life from a more conscious perspective.

The twelve exercises in this book include clear examples of art that is expressed before and after the meditative experience. A few of the topics that are covered include: Stages of Awareness • Transformation • Recognizing Potential • Form and the Formless • Relativity • The Individual in Community • Cooperation vs. Competition

When we come together to explore the possibilities of our spiritual self, the potential is endless. The concepts and activities presented in Meditation & Art can be followed by children, young adults, seniors and anyone who would recover their inner sense of inspiration and wonder. The potential for creativity is all around us; Ruth Platner simply helps open our eyes.

“All my forms and people are in motion, never static; it is a way to express my personal excitement about living this lifetime of constant change.”
—Ruth Platner
