Meetings: A Reporter's Notebook

Mae West, Johnny Carson, Taylor Caldwell, Elvis Presley, Carl Sandburg, Eleanor Roosevelt, Grace Kelly, Joseph P. Kennedy, and Clark Gable are just a few of the people with whom Jess Stearn has crossed paths in his storied career as a journalist and author. From the Lindbergh baby kidnapping to the rise of rock 'n' roll to the Kennedy assassinations, these "snapshots" from his notebook offer a compelling look at American history in the 20th century.

Jess Stearn is a prizewinning journalist formerly with Newsweek and the New York Daily News. He is the author of over 30 books, several of which were bestsellers, including: Yoga, Youth and Reincarnation; Door to the Future; The Sixth Man; I Judas; The Power of Alpha Thinking; The Search for the Girl with Blue Eyes; The Search for the Soul: Psychic Lives of Taylor Caldwell; Prophet in His Own Country; Soulmates; Elvis' Search for God; and the #1 New York Times bestseller, Edgar Cayce: The Sleeping Prophet.

He began writing books after years of investigative reporting. His books have been translated into fifteen languages. Stearn's books have changed the lives of thousands of people, and his book "Edgar Cayce on the Millenium" reflects the transition of mankind into the New Millenium. Jess Stearn started writing about the little know subject of psychic phenomena after he had a personal experience. This brought about several best selling books "Edgar Cayce - The Sleeping Prophet" published in the U.S. Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Japan and South America. His Door to the Future, which preceded the Edgar Cayce book, carried the Jean Dixon prediction about the assassination of John Kennedy months before it occurred.
