Asia's financial meltdown and its impact on the world are analyzed by two specialists at Business Week, who trace the boom-bust cycle of the Asian economies, critiquing the continent's development strategies and speculating on the future of the region's various economic machines.

The authors, both journalists at Business Week, have over two decades of experience living in and reporting on Asia. Mark L. Clifford, author of "Troubled Tiger: Businessmen, Bureaucrats and Generals in South Korea" and former Business Editor for the Far Eastern Economic Review, is the Hong Kong-based Asia Regional Editor for Business Week. After nearly a decade in Asia, during which he won numerous awards for his reporting, Pete Engardio is now Business Week's New York-based Asian Edition Editor. The two are part of the magazine's prize-winning Asia team, which won the Overseas Press Club award for best foreign reporting for its coverage of the Asian crisis.
