Xxiv + 506pp illustrated with numerous plates, some with tissue guards. The centenary of Robert Burns death on 21st July 1896 saw national celebrations to commemorate his life and achievements. This was possibly the greatest exhibition relating to the poet & included all manner of relics (miscellaneous items pertaining to Burns & his family/friends) as well as portraits, manuscripts, books & pictures. Ex reference library with number on spine, single stamp on front pastedown, first & last page & to the reverse of the plates.
