A very scarce copy of this memorial volume of Robert Brickel, including five works in one, to commemorate the life and writings of the Rector of Hoole. A vanishingly scarce work, with no copies held institutionally. In the publisher's original brown cloth binding. With the contemporary ink inscription and bookplate of Britisharchaeologist and academic John L. Myres, the son of the editor William Miles Myers. Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece, and a mounted memorial tablet plate. Five works in one: 'Memorials of the Rev. Robert Brickel, B.A., Rector of Hoole, 1848-1881', 'Our Relationship and Our Work. To the Inhabitants of Much Hool & Little Hoole', 'This World & The Next: A New Year's Address to the Inhabitants of Much Hoole & Little Hoole', 'The Transits of Venus 1639-1874, or, a Chapter of Romance in Science', and 'Good Things & True From Our Loved Dead: A Third and Last Letter To His Parishioners'. The first memorial work is edited by W. Miles Myres, with the following four works being by Rev. Robert Brickel. The remaining works act as a memorial for Robert Brickel, an energetic campaigner and tireless worker for the community.
