About the Authors

GENE WENTZ served in Vietnam as a SEAL. His many decorations include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, three Presidential Unit Citations, three Navy Unit Citations, and two Vietnamese Crosses of Gallantry.

B. Abell Jurus, the "Mother Superior" of San Diego's writing community, opened the Writers' Bookstore & Haven and founded the Southern California Writers' Conference. After hearing former Navy SEAL Gene Wentz's war stories, she offered to write Men in Green Faces with him. The book became a classic Vietnam War novel. Jurus died in 2015.
