Mercy's Gaze : 100 Readings from Scripture and the Diary of St. Faustina

Compiled and introduced by best-selling author Vinny Flynn, Mercy's Gaze breaks new ground as the first-ever themed collection of both Diary passages and Scripture verses. This book is not just a compilation, however, but a guide through the Diary of St. Faustina and Scripture from one of the foremost experts on Divine Mercy.

Readers will see how the teachings of the Scriptures and St. Faustina's Diary are in harmony, drawing them to a deeper understanding of how the message of God's merciful love is at the very heart of the Gospel. Vinny uses very pertinent and practical themes such as: "The Divine Mercy Message and Devotion," "The Eucharist and Thanksgiving," "Confession and Forgiveness," "The Will of God," "Redemptive Suffering," "Love," "Holiness," "Prayer," and "Mercy My Hope," among others.

Each topic has related sets of passages from both Scripture and the Diary. The format is intended to inspire prayerful reflection for 100 days, but it is the perfect companion for daily prayer, and can be picked up and used for inspiration or help with a particular struggle at any time. Includes pages for writing your own reflections, a full color reproduction of the Vilnius Divine Mercy Image, and an appendix of prayers.

As Vinny writes in his introduction:
"So, when we gaze upon Christ ... - not only with our eyes but with our minds and hearts - we 'rediscover' the Father. We recognize that it's His hand raised over us in blessing, His mercy gushing forth from the Heart of Jesus. We come to know who Christ is, who the Father is, and who we are called to be, and we are progressively transformed into living images of mercy."
