First edition, seven volumes. Printed wrappers. Some toning and handling wear; some old ink notes on the rear cover of vol 1 no 1; cover starting from top edge of spine on vol 1 no 2; condition varies from near fine to very good plus. A full run of this very important little magazine from Paris, which published Ionesco, Genet, Logue, Creeley, Sartre, and Miller, and was one of the first outlets to give serious attention to Samuel Beckett s work. Richard Seaver published an essay on Beckett in no. 2; Beckett published a section of Watt (which was written in English) in no. 3. The imprint "Collection Merlin" was started to publish Watt; and they later published the first English-language edition of Molloy. Maurice Girodias took an interest in the publishing venture, as a result of which, "Collection Merlin" became an imprint of Olympia Press, and the final volume of the journal was published by the Olympia Press. The final volume is inscribed by Trocchi and dated in 1981. References: Patrick Kearney, The Paris Olympia Press, 2.7.1. Federman & Fletcher 32.03, 372, 374.01.
