Item description from seller

No publisher, place or date. Presumed Government Printing Office, Washington, 1890. Pamphlet, disbound from a larger work. 34 pp. A work compiling letters from various officials from the government of China, expressing disagreement over recent US legislation that prohibited Chinese laborers from entering the US. Letters cite incoming laborers in San Francisco, as well as the plight of Chinese travelers who land in the United States on their way back to China, asserting they are subject to bonds of $200. POOR/FAIR condition. Disbound, with most pages DETACHED from each other, and those that remain intact, are tenuous at best. Chipping and remains of binding along the spine. Paper rather toned.
