The Messianic Hope: A Divine Solution for the Human Problem (Canon Press Book)

Philosophies, religions, and political and military institutions have failed to overcome the difficulties that beset humanity in every generation. Yet the problems that man seeks to eradicate through education, armies, and governments are only offshoots of the real problem - himself. Dr. Arthur W. Kac is convinced that the solution to man’s real problem lies outside the secular orientation that dominates modern thought. "The Messianic Hope" makes it clear that only God has the answer, and that he has persistently, over centuries, tried to pound that fact into the head of a particular people - the Jews. The Bible is the record of that instructional process. The author argues from the whole of Scripture that God’s solution to man’s problem is to be found in the concept of a Messiah. From the Pentateuch to the Book of Revelation, Dr. Kac explores the centrality of this concept in the Bible and how all the prophetic utterances of the Old Testament find their fulfillment in the person of Jesus of Nazareth.
