Messy Hope

Set in California’s San Fernando Valley, a stay-at-home mom, a lesbian graduate student and a pastor find their lives intersecting in extraordinary ways as God assaults their comfort zones. • Alison, a stay-at-home mother of three, is in passionate pursuit of answers and finds herself plunged into leading a group of woman who infect their community with uncanny goodness accompanied with controversy. "Lord, I’m drowning! Why didn’t you pick someone else?" • Bettina’s encounters with Christ are sublimely satiating as well as comprehensively disruptive. "Jesus could mess up my entire life! What’s Kristin going to think about this? My LGBT friends?" • Pastor Greg, despite his training and experience, grapples with his blind spots as Alison and Bettina’s quests encroach on him and his congregation.

Richard Burton lives in California's San Fernando Valley with his amazing wife and two basketballs. They have four daughters, three grandkids, and four grand-dogs - one of them insane. He serves as a pastor and has also worked as a consultant.
