Meta Verse: A Collection of Lyrical Reflections

Meta Verse is a collection of poems that encourages readers to reflect on their values as they relate to important challenges of our time. These include degradation of our natural environment, problems related to race and ethnicity, and complications that arise with aging. In the title, Meta implies a deep level of thinking, and Verse offers a rhythmic setting that encourages thoughts and emotions. Mark E. Quirk draws inspiration for creative writing from his family and his life experiences on Clark's Island and the Caribbean Island of Anguilla. He has enjoyed a forty-five-year medical education career in the roles of professor and administrator. His previous two academic books and numerous articles on metacognition and reflective thinking have received international acclaim and led to many plenary presentations. This is Quirk's first published volume of poetry.
