Metals and the Skin - Topical Effects and Systemic Absorption

"Addresses the increase of toxic heavy metals in the environment. Sets the standard for future research in interactions between the skin and metals and metal compounds-covering the general toxicology of 35 metals and metalloids, their occurrence in the environment, significance in nutrition, skin diffusivity, occupational exposure risks, and immunotoxicity."

...useful as a stable and starting point to standardize the procedure for determining the real skin toxicity of all metal compounds reported. The accuracy of the data collected and the fame of the well-known authors...[make this book] indispensable...for the control-lab technicians [of] all the public health institutes in the world. This interesting scientific work will have to be in all the libraries of medicine and chemistry...as well as by those ...[of] cosmetic dermatology.
---Quarterly Review of Cosmetic Dermatology/Journal of Applied Cosmetology 'This book aims to collect together data about toxicity and penetration via the skin for 35 metals, a task which has never been undertaken before and which brings together a great deal of data from the former Eastern Block countries that have not been available or translated before....
...it represents a vast compendium of information, never available in one place until now, and the reference lists alone will prove invaluable to workers in the field.
