In this revised edition, the book begins with a thorough presentation of classical solution methods for plane geometry problems, but its distinguishing feature is the subsequent wealth of methods it uses to solve problems, many of which arose where existing techniques proved inadequate. Students studying and applying this variety of methods, as well as the classic analytical method, will develop their appreciation of the subject and of mathematics as a whole. AUTHORS: Owen Byer is a Professor of Mathematics at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He is the Program Chair of EMU's Mathematical Sciences Department, which includes the mathematics, computer science, and engineering programs, and has taught at the university for 23 years. Deirdre L. Smeltzer is the Senior Director of Programs at the Mathematical Association of America. She was a Professor of Mathematics with the University of St. Thomas and Eastern Mennonite University, where she also served as a Department Chair, Cross-Cultural Director, and Vice President and Undergraduate Dean. Felix Lazebnik is a Professor of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Delaware where he designs and studies smart networks, as well as researches discrete and continuous mathematics. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Electronic Journal of Combinatorics.
