Based on a model of measuring process, it is shown that the resulting measurement is a rational approximation to the true value and that this approximation has a higher accuracy than approximations by systematic fractions. The properties of mediant fractions are used in the measurement model for two given fractions. 132 pp. Englisch.

About the Author

Oleg Sergiyenko received the B.S., and M.S., degrees in Kharkiv National University of Automobiles and Highways, Ukraine, in 1991, 1993, and Ph.D. in Kharkiv National Polytechnic University in 1997.He has editor of 4 books, written 87 articles, participate as session-chair in many IEEE Congresses. He is currently Head of Department in UABC.
