'We have your son and will expect payment for money owed by you to us in the amount of 250,000.00 dollars. We will be in contact for the transaction, ' signed by 'Some very old friends'.

Jim's past had finally caught up with him. As he thought back on it, he could hardly remember any of it. He had been so clever about getting the two gangs in California to fight it out for the territory and the drugs as a diversion, so that he could slip away from the FBI and the greedy sheriff's department in Arizona. He thought he had pulled it off. It had all worked out as he had walked away into a new life and into a new place in the middle of nowhere. After ten years he thought that they had forgotten about him and the theft of the drug money he had taken.

In the exciting conclusion of the Heat series, Lucas and Miguel with Buck and Rachael, will be called upon once again to come to the rescue and save the life of a 14 year old girl left for dead and Jim's son, Michael, being held for ransom.
