In fair condition. Light wear to extremities with scuffing along corners and hinges. Extremes afflicted with crushing and fraying. Water mark staining to front and rear boards. Gilt finishing remains bright and clean. Bookseller s sticker on bottom left pastedown. Tissue guards are shaken, but intact. Interior lightly toned with scattered light foxing. Binding intact, albeit shaken. Soiling to gutters. Please see photos. A first edition of this brilliantly illustrated history and guide to Mexico, a number of colored plates. Fifty-two full plates in color and black and white comprising seventeen chromolithographs and 35 wood engraved plates.
