Microbial Enzymes : Classification, Biochemistry, Production and Applications

Microbial Enzymes: Classification, Biochemistry, Production and Applications explores the multifaceted roles of microbial enzymes, emphasizing their stability, ease of handling, and manipulation, all of which make them invaluable in various industrial processes. With 25 in-depth chapters, the book delves into the biochemistry of enzymes, their various sources, and their importance in biotechnology. It covers modern techniques for microbial enzyme detection and determination, methods of enzyme immobilization, and the application of microbial enzymes in industries such as food, medicine, pharmaceuticals, and textiles. Special sections discuss the biosynthesis of metal nanoparticles by microbial enzymes and the role of microbial toxins in different sectors.

The book's chapters are organized in a way that provides detailed insights into the classification of enzymes, the mechanisms of microbial enzymes, and their industrial importance. Topics include bacterial, fungal, and algal enzymes, their applications, and the latest advancements in enzyme technology. Other sections address the challenge of antibiotic resistance and explores innovative methods for enzyme production and molecular engineering.
