Microcomputer Quantum Mechanics

Microcomputer Quantum Mechanics combines the teaching of computing skills with depth of mathematical understanding. This practical text demonstrates how computation can be integrated with theoretical analysis as part of a unified attack on problems in one of the most interesting areas of modern physics. The author discusses the mathematical principles behind the programs and actually creates new methods to facilitate the application of microcomputers in quantum mechanics.

How sad to learn a language and then to have nothing to say. This is, however, a very common situation in computing. Students learn how to write simple programs, but there is often nothing upon which they can test their new-found skills and no way of building upon their experience by using the computer on real or even realistic problems. Dr Killingbeck sets out to remedy this situation by providing...something worthwhile to say...which is of a genuine scientific nature and at the same time possible on devices now widely available. Nature An excellent little book. Although quantum mechanics are used as examples, the techniques can be applied to many other areas of physics.
