Designed to connect fundamental principles with cutting-edge applications, it presents how miniaturized, precisely controlled reaction platforms are reshaping synthesis, remediation, and sustainable process development. It overviews design principles, operational mechanisms, and the transformative impact of microreactors across various scientific domains.
Features:
Intended for researchers, postgraduate students, and professionals in chemical engineering, materials science, nanotechnology, and environmental engineering, this book serves as both a foundational reference and a guide to emerging trends.
Satyabrata Si is a faculty member in the School of Chemical Engineering at KIIT Deemed to be University, India. His research expertise spans nanomaterials, advanced catalysis, polymeric composites, and functional biomaterials for biomedical, environmental, and energy applications. His work particularly focuses on gold and silver nanoparticles, silica-coated nanostructures, graphene quantum dots, hydrogel-based nanomaterials, and catalytic process development for sustainable technologies.
Jayato Nayak, Assistant Professor at Mahindra University & Center for Life Sciences, is a leading researcher with over a decade of experience in novel design and applications focused on process intensification. His expertise spans water and wastewater treatment, graphene-integrated photocatalyst development, sludge treatment, and bio-synthesis of value-added products. He collaborates nationally with IITs, NITs, CSIR labs, and internationally with professionals in Poland, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, among others.
Suraj K. Tripathy, Head of the School of Chemical Engineering, KIIT, also leads the Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering Lab (CBEL) at KIIT, which focuses on achieving sustainability in materials processing and utilization. CBEL explores opportunities in the valorization of waste materials (secondary resources) and investigates their applications in catalysis, water treatment and biomedical systems. CBEL also works closely with industries to develop suitable waste management and resource recycling strategies to optimize the potential of the circular economy model.
Sankha Chakrabortty is an Associate Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar. A gold medalist Ph.D. from NIT Durgapur, he has over eight years of postdoctoral experience in teaching, research, and technology development. His research focuses on membrane technology, water and wastewater treatment, CO₂ capture and conversion, biomass valorization, and sustainable chemical processes. He has led and contributed to projects funded by DST, UGC, Ministry of Mines, NALCO, and NMDC, etc.
