Volume I only. 8th edition. 8vo. 530 pages. Dark green cloth boards with titles on spine. Monochrome photomicrographs as frontispiece, with tissue guard. Numerous monochrome illustrations, mainly in the text, some full-page. Boards rubbed; corners bumped; ends of spine just starting to fray; spine discoloured. Endpapers toned; bookseller's pencil annotations on front endpaper; otherwise pages clean. Hinges slightly tender but binding otherwise remaining firm.
