This book has discusses the origins of the microturbine and sets forth why it will replace the reciprocating engine in the near future. Many years have passed since their initial introduction. Only Capstone survived the slow development of the market for these units. Now as the future looks more promising other companies are starting to reconsider the field. Future books will deal with applications and future development in greater detail. The integration of the microturbine with the fuel cell currently is a promising deployment which will be discussed. I plan to write addition books diving into applications and future developments. For example, the integration on the microturbine with the fuel cell is at an early stage at present.
