Microwave Assisted Synthesis of Some Heterocyclic Compounds

A Concise Account on Ionic liquids, Microwave, 2-arylbenzothiazole, Tetrahydrobenzo[b]Pyrans, Xanthene derivatives, 4-Thiazolidinone derivatives, Dihydropyrimido[4,5-d]pyrimidine, 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one and 4-hydroxycoumarin. Heterocyclic compounds offer a high degree of structural diversity and are proven to be useful as therapeutic agents [1]. Heterocyclic compounds comprise the major and most varied group of medicinal compounds. Most of the branded drugs and various bioactive compounds contain heterocyclic fragments in their structures. Among all heterocyclic compound’s nitrogen-based heterocycles attracted considerable focus because N containing heterocycles are present in several bioactive natural products such as vitamins, hormones, antibiotics, alkaloids, glycosides, and many other compounds which are of significance for human and animal health [2]. For these reasons, heterocycles have an enormous potential to be used as scaffolds for the designing of new drugs.
