Unveil the Secrets of Mictlán and the Mexica Cosmovision

If you've ever wondered what lies beyond life according to the ancient Mexica, this book offers a window into their mythology, rituals, and enduring legacy.

Mictlán: The Otherworld of the Mexica

Long before the arrival of the Europeans, the Mexica had already developed their own vision of the afterlife: Mictlán, a shadowy realm where souls embarked on a treacherous journey through nine levels before reaching eternal rest.

From the offerings of cempoaxóchitl flowers to the xoloitzcuintli dogs guiding the dead, the concept of death in Mexico is a living legacy that has evolved over centuries. This book explores how Mictlán continues to influence Mexican traditions, legends, and the Day of the Dead as we know it today.

Dare to cross the gates of Mictlán and uncover the fate of souls in the pre-Hispanic underworld.
