In The Middle of Nowhere is a fictional story set in a New England town. It shows a glimpse into the meeting of the lives of four characters. Moods of landscape and weather reflect their states of mind, and incline them towards actions which represent the terminal points of character.

About the Author

Fanny Howe is an American poet, novelist, and short story writer. She is the author of several novels, including First Marriage, Bronte Wilde, and Holy Smoke. Howe was awarded the 2009 Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize by the Poetry Foundation to a living U.S. poet whose lifetime accomplishments warrant extraordinary recognition.
