Million Dollar Pickup (The Edgar Reyes Chronicles(tm))

Edgar Ramirez is just another exhausted rideshare driver trying to survive Los Angeles one pickup at a time. Long nights, fake smiles, five-star ratings, and nonstop traffic have become his entire life. But everything changes after a wounded stranger jumps into his car outside a Hollywood taco stand and shoves a massive suitcase into the trunk moments before gunshots erupt behind them.

At first, Edgar thinks he accidentally picked up a criminal running from a robbery gone wrong. Then the passenger disappears, leaving the suitcase behind. Inside sits over a million dollars in cash. Minutes later, Edgar receives a terrifying rideshare review notification from the missing passenger's account, confirming one horrifying truth: people are coming for the suitcase, and they already know who Edgar is.

What begins as a desperate attempt to survive quickly spirals into a citywide chase across Los Angeles. Black SUVs stalk him through Hollywood Boulevard. Armed men hunt him through Downtown parking structures. Corrupt officers close in through industrial districts and container yards near the river channels. Every escape route becomes another trap as Edgar uncovers a hidden network operating through hospitals, freight systems, security contractors, and law enforcement itself.

Alongside Diego, his fiercely loyal friend, and a mysterious woman connected to the wounded passenger, Edgar learns the suitcase never truly belonged to criminals chasing money. Hidden beneath the cash are files capable of exposing a massive corruption operation tied to powerful figures throughout Los Angeles.

As helicopters circle the skyline and the city slowly wakes around them, Edgar is forced to decide whether he wants to survive quietly or expose the truth Mateo died trying to protect. One random rideshare pickup transforms an invisible driver into the most hunted man in Los Angeles overnight.
