In this follow-up parable to Fisher's The Instant Millionaire (New World Lib., 1990), John Blake, an unhappy young advertising writer, finds success as a screenwriter after learning life's secrets from the Instant Millionaire. In the course of the story, values such as goal-setting, perseverance, and risk-taking are revealed to Blake. Blake's own journey to success is bizarrely accelerated after the Instant Millionaire, who possesses magical powers, causes him to become paralyzed and thus able to focus on writing his screenplay. The book does offer some useful truths, but the story is not as crisp as Fisher's first, and the magical aspects often detract from the ideas he tries to unveil. Recommended only where there is interest.

This modern-day parable is a business and self-help book that traces the metamorphosis of a young hero from career frustration and discouragement to riches and fulfillment through the guidance of an eccentric yet wise old millionaire. There are many noble themes expressed, which cannot be repeated too often to influence one's business as well as personal life, including the power of the mind, developing focus and concentration (which will strengthen willpower and lead to accomplishing great things), and drafting a very specific goal (which includes a dollar amount and date for achievement). Success requires faith and audacity to achieve the things one really wants, and the author strongly cautions against letting fear bury one's talents. With repeated emphasis on the value of concentration, we are taught that success can be learned by imitating others and by continuous attention to details, and that an observing mind animated by a specific objective can see things that distracted minds or those lacking motivation overlook.
