About the Author

Susan lives in Glen Margaret, Nova Scotia. She and her spouse run a mixed martial arts gym a short 30 minutes away in Halifax. As a mother of three and "gym mom" to many she knows the importance of a child feeling confident as they navigate the world. Jiu Jitsu teaches children qualities such as discipline, kindness and patience. She has seen first hand that learning Jiu Jitsu not only gives children confidence that they can defend themselves but a respect for others that extends off the mats into other activities, home and school. Susan practices Jiu Jitsu with her spouse and is humbly learning all the techniques Milly learns on her magical adventure.
