Milo's Next Chapter

Big feelings happen. Mistakes happen, too. But there is always a next choice.

Milo can build amazing block towers and make his friends laugh. But some mornings, he comes to school carrying a storm inside. After a difficult night at home, an accidentally toppled tower sends his anger tumbling out.

With gentle support from Ms. Rivera, Milo learns three simple choices: pause, get space, and ask for help. As he finds his calm, he discovers that feeling angry is okay, keeping others safe matters, and making a mistake does not mean he cannot make things right.

Milo’s Next Choice is a compassionate picture book about big emotions, safe choices, friendship, and repairing hurt. Through a relatable classroom story, children see how a caring adult can help them understand their feelings, take responsibility for their actions, and try again without shame.

A thoughtful read for families, elementary classrooms, special education settings, and school counseling, this book includes practical calming choices for young readers and guidance for adults. Children are encouraged to communicate in ways that work for them, including pointing when words feel hard to find.

For every child who has wished for a do-over, Milo offers a reassuring reminder: you do not have to carry your storm alone, and your next choice can make a difference.
