Mind and Itself: Architecture of Mind and Hidden Mechanisms of Human Perception (Paperback or Softback)

Mind and Itself is an ambitious philosophical investigation into the nature of consciousness, exploring how thought, identity, and meaning emerge not in isolation, but through tension, conflict, and engagement with the social and moral world. Rejecting simplistic or reductionist approaches to psychology, the book examines the mind as a dynamic system—one that is constantly shaped by perception, organization, moral polarity, and the pressures of social interaction.

Through rigorous analysis, the work traces the development of self-esteem, the isolation of consciousness, the interplay of good and evil, and the generative role of conflict. It demonstrates that the mind is not a stable container for ideas, but an active engine that creates and transforms itself under pressure, negotiating between internal drives and external realities.

Rather than offering resolutions or comfort, Mind and Itself confronts the reader with the mechanisms by which consciousness is both fractured and productive. The book challenges conventional narratives in psychology, philosophy, and civilization studies, presenting conflict and contradiction not as problems to be solved, but as essential catalysts of mental and cultural formation.

Intended for readers willing to engage with complexity and ambiguity, Mind and Itself does not simplify, instruct, or prescribe. Instead, it illuminates the structures, tensions, and processes that make thought possible, inviting sustained reflection on the inner and social forces that shape human existence. The work stands as a rigorous, uncompromising exploration of consciousness, offering insight into the intricate dynamics of mind, society, and civilization.

Baruch Menache works at the intersection of philosophy, narrative, and lyric expression. His work investigates the structural conditions of identity, the genealogy of belief, and the points at which psychological, social, and symbolic orders break, misalign, or reconstitute themselves. Across theoretical and theatrical forms, interior life is treated not as expression but as a philosophical problem governed by sequence, deviation, and correction. He lives in New York with his wife and children.
