An uncommon copy of the 18th Edition of this uncommon work.This popular and informative work was first published in 1840, and saw 20 editions in Britain, as well as publication in America.Written by British nurseryman Thomas Rivers - Rivers is credited with the introduction of several new roses and fruits, and assisted in the founding of the British Pomological Society.This title features a single unlisted photographic plate, and frequent vignette illustrations. No other collation records available. Bound in original brown cloth. Externally, very smart. Mild rubbing to extremities. The odd small marks to boards. Bumping to head and tail. Hinges starting, but firm. Slight age toning to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with the occasional crease. Very light spotting to text block fore edge. Very Good.
