Kennedy lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Author Greg Breining lives in St. Paul, Minnesota. He's also the author of Wild Shore (U of MN Press), an account of two seasons kayaking around Superior; Minnesota, a travel book in the Compass American Guide series; Return of the Eagle: How America Saved Its National Symbol (Falcon), the illustrated story of how America saved its national symbol; Paddling Minnesota (Falcon) and Fishing Minnesota. His essays and articles have appeared in Sports Illustrated, Audubon, Islands, National and International Wildlife, Minnesota Monthly, and other publications.
