Blue cloth covers with gilt lettering, in slipcase with paper title label as issued, slipcase rubbed at corners. The actual first American edition had been restricted to just 50 copies (only ten of which were for sale, at $500,000 each!, published by Doubleday in 1936 as a copyright edition. "The American edition was issued first in a limited edition of 1000 copies. Cape published 2000 limited copies as well as the standard trade issue". O'Brien A168.
