About this Item
This is the 1951 edition of the University of New Mexico yearbook. Embossed silver boards with red lettering and accents. Spine is slightly cocked; rubbing to edges, especially at head and tail of spine. A few page gutters are starting to crack, but binding is still fairly tight. Minor dampstaining along fore edge. Overall good. Edward Abbey appears in this yearbook as editor of the Thunderbird, the literary journal of the University of New Mexico. He is in three photos on pages 126 and 127. The March 1951 issue of The Thunderbird resulted in its suspension after Abbey published a piece on anarchy and attributed a Diderot quote, "Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest," to Louisa May Alcott. ; Book; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall; 304 pp. Seller Inventory # 024297
