Mired: Life in the Swamp - Ruminations on the Irrelevance of Truth in an Age of Unreason, Lies, and Killer Pandemics

MIRED reads like an autobiographical time capsule, a treasure trove of personal recollections, historical events, and candid, often caustic meditations on the human condition, the Fourth Estate, political harlotry, cherished beliefs, and the nation he has renamed Amerika. Acerbic, defiant, irreverent, MIRED brings together a series of essays, each a kaleidoscopic musing on the state of a universe in disarray. Casting an alternately wistful and petulant glance at the viruses that sicken and kill, and pointing at the dogmas that render us mad, the author ventures no remedy for the world's multilayered and intersecting ills, only the sadness, bitterness, and anger they continue to evoke as he himself struggles to find his "place" in an ill-fitting world.
