Mirror Image: Living a Life That Reflects Christ

When you look in the mirror, ladies, what do you see? Do you see what the world tells you … or do you see what God says about you? Our society puts so much focus on how we look, setting impossible standards by which we judge ourselves. Haven’t we been trained, since little girls, to be hyper-aware of our bodies and how they fall short of “beautiful”? Our nose is too long, and our butt too low. Our legs too thick, and our boobs too flat. Our hair too flat, and our teeth too yellow. ACK! By the time we’re five years old, ladies, we’ve been subjected to THOUSANDS of messages all targeted at making us view ourselves with lack. Gals, this has to stop! We’re all cranky and exhausted … we’re starved from not dining on the TRUTH of what God says about us: that We. Are. Beautiful! Don’t you want to rest in that assurance that you ARE enough — even with some cellulite and a muffin top? Elizabeth has written this study of Colossians for you, Beautiful, to help you to not only think about this daily struggle, but overcome it. As you journey through this six-week study of Colossians, you’ll discover:•That Jesus meets us in the reflection of our mirror and invites us to believe what He says about us. •How to distinguish the lies of the world from the truth of God’s Word. •How to use the Bible to identify heart issues and blind spots in your thinking that dim your reflection of Christ.•How to confidently step in front of your full-length mirror and declare yourself beautifully created, for the specific purposes God birthed YOU to accomplish. Gals, why do we allow the world to tell us how to view our appearance? Especially considering that advertising has only ONE function: to create lack and shame to sell us a whole lot of stuff we don't need? Let’s develop the inner beauty that grows from our hearts and minds being sold out to God — and watch how we radiantly reflect God to a world so desperately in need of Him.Let’s be Mirror Images that beautifully reflect Christ!
