xiii, 68 + 21 full-page leaves of plates (2 in full color) + 8 pp. b&w comparison plates; folio, bound in quarter crimson straight-grained morocco, crimson cloth sides, t.e.g. Bodley MS 283 is a Middle English version of the French moral treatise "Somme le Roi," and was executed in England in the late fifteenth century. The (partial) facsimile is preceded by several scholarly analyses on the various production aspects of this manuscript. Lord Harlech's copy, with his name printed in red in the roll of members.
