Alexander K. Craig was a man who lived a life of dedicated service to his country, his family, and his faith. Born in 1828, Craig grew up in the farming community of Claysville, Pennsylvania. He began his career as an educator, serving as a teacher and school principal. However, his true calling lay in politics. Craig served in the Union Army during the Civil War, and after his return home, he became active in the Democratic Party. In 1892, he was elected to the United States House of Representatives, where he served until his untimely death in 1892. This book explores the life and legacy of Alexander K. Craig, highlighting his contributions to education, politics, and the community of Claysville.
