About the Author

Kelli Pearson began teaching math at age 8, when she helped her best friend learn the times tables.

Sadly, the trauma of middle school pre-algebra left her convinced that she was not, in fact, a math person. This common but erroneous belief persisted as Kelli steadfastly avoided all things math for many, many years. 

Her math conversion experience came about quite suddenly with the confluence of Kelli's obsession with games, her love of Dell logic puzzles, and a random library book about patterns. Long story short, Kelli surprised everyone who knew her by falling deeply in love with math.

Building on more than 20 years' experience teaching children, Kelli wrote Miss Brain's Cool Math Games to share the fun of math with kids. Her games have been played and enjoyed by hundreds of kids around the world. 

Kelli is a teacher, writer, curriculum designer, games inventor, and puzzle queen. She lives in Santa Clara, CA.
