An exceptionally rare 1908 Dominican Rite Missal issued by the distinguished Desclée press under the authority of Fr. Hyacinthus Maria Cormier, Master General of the Order of Preachers and later beatified by the Church.

This Missale Juxta Ritum Sacri Ordinis Praedicatorum represents the fully developed liturgical tradition of the Dominican Order prior to the twentieth- century liturgical reforms and remains one of the more elusive surviving ritual editions of the Order.

Of particular distinction is the presence of its original metal clasp/lock - a feature seldom preserved and rarely encountered on surviving examples. Copies retaining such elements are exceptionally difficult to source.

Bound in red leather with gilt decoration and titling, the volume retains a strong ecclesiastical presence and authentic signs of historical liturgical use. The binding and spine show wear consistent with devotional handling, and several leaves are slightly loose, yet the volume remains an impressive and highly desirable survival.

Dominican Missals from this period almost never appear on the open market, particularly in complete form and with original fittings intact.

A significant collector's piece for specialists in Dominican liturgy, religious orders, and pre- conciliar Catholic printing.

An extraordinarily scarce edition - virtually impossible to replace.
