Missing Links: Poems on Perception

This is a book of poems on perception.

Reason is the hammer of the firmament, it forges worlds, it charts the skies, it bends the future to the mind’s design and names the unknown with law and line. It carves from chaos pillars tall, foundations firm for city walls; it builds with numbers, breaks with light— a compass guiding day through night.

Imagination, softer, stiller flame, lacks the iron to compel or claim. Yet in the hush before the thought, it is the breath the cosmos sought. It sees not what should be, but what is beneath the surface of things— the ache in a star, the sleep in a stone, the tremble of a leaf alone.

Perception is its sovereign grace, it does not conquer but it knows; it touches truth without a glove, it kneels before what reason shoves.
