new look at three great air operations of the Second World War: Operation 'Upkeep', one of the most exacting precision raids in history in wich the RAF struck the Ruhr Dams; Operation 'Jericho', the successful breaching of the walls of Amiencs prison by extra-low-flying British aircraft to rescue a number of French Resistance leaders who were awaiting execution; and thirdly, Operation 'Thunderbolt', the Channel Dash from Brest to Norway of Scharnhorst, Gneisenau and Prinz Eugen and the elaborate air operations of the Luftwaffe which lay behind it.
