Mission in Context: Now, Then and Next: Now, Then and Next (Paperback or Softback)

"In the midst of so much change, seemingly at an ever-accelerating pace, are there continuing and unchanging realities?" Mission: Now, Then and Next considers how shifting cultures, technologies and opportunities have shaped mission in recent decades. Once travel was an expensive and arduous endeavour. Today skies are filled with criss-crossing planes, and opportunities for mission look different. But what, if anything, has stayed the same?

Rose explores the individual's role in God's global mission today and challenges us to consider what we might learn from other cultures. We discover new mission opportunities on your doorstep, in your workplace, and even on your phone.

From discussing authentic discipleship in a world of instant communication, to the roles of local churches and mission agencies, Rose dives into the dimensions of mission and how these have changed over time.

But scattered throughout the book, and what remains an unchanging reason for mission, is the gospel. While methods and trends may change as new generations are reached, it is the foundation of the gospel that unites and anchors mission as God's unchanging commission.
