Die untersuchten Sprachen umfassen das Portugiesische, Italienische, Spanische, Rum�nische, Katalanische und Franz�sische. Der erste Teil des Bandes befasst sich mit den Interpretationsm�glichkeiten von Modalit�t sowohl einzelsprachlich als auch vergleichend und ber�cksichtigt dabei insbesondere ihre Beziehungen zur Kategorie Tempus, zu Satzkonnektoren, nicht-finiten Relativs�tzen, Evidentialit�t und Epistemizit�t sowie zur Illokution. Der zweite Teil stellt Analysen einzelsprachlicher Ph�nomenbereiche der Modusselektion und Modusalternation vor.
